ETS (SW) Ltd are part of the ETS Group of Companies operating out of premesis in Bristol, England supplying site temporary and permanent electrical installations to the construction industry.
The company’s founders, Dave Cole and Des Derrick, commenced trading in 1979 in the days when it fashionable for them to wear flared trousers, have long hair, drive Mk II Cortina’s and a pint of beer was less than 25p per pint. However, being enlightened businessmen they kept up with times, embraced new technology as it became available so they could keep one step ahead of their competitors, and as such the business grew steadily over the next eight years.
In 1987, Dave and Des secured their first big contract with Tesco Stores, followed closely by the Shopping Centre in Aylesbury for Henry Boot, and then Tidworth Army Barracks.
The family run business continued to grow and in 1993 the company opened an office in Cardiff, Wales to satisfy an increasing demand from a growing Welsh Economy, securing such prestigious projects as the refurbishment of the Museum of Wales and the building of a the new Millennium Stadium for the home of Welsh Rugby.
Sadly, Dave Cole passed away in late 2010, and the company’s reins were taken up by his son, Mark Cole, who became Managing Director. Mark was assisted by his niece Sam Cole as Company Secretary and Head of Accounts, his uncle Mark Herbert who has been with the company for over 30 years, as Director of the Temporary Electrics Division, and later in 2015 by Mark’s brother, Nathan Cole. Des Derrick remained a Director of the company until he retired in 2012.
The other members of the Management Team, Bernard Beaves (Business Development), and Paul Wittcomb (Permanents Contracts Manager) and Dale Chaplin (Permanents Contracts Manager and NICEIC Principal Duty Holder) all have extensive experience in the Electrical Contracting industry and between them have over 20 years ETS service.
The company now employs over 35 staff and continues to grow steadily by repeatedly winning both large and small contracts, the majority of which being with established Main Contractors, but new ones are also being added to the expanding Client Database each month.
In 2016, the ETS Group of Companies was formed with the introduction of ETS (FM) Ltd and ETS (EPE) Ltd to satisfy a growing demand for services above and beyond that of Electrical Contracting. The Group continues to expand and is looking forward to celebrating 40 years of service in 2019.
